How to Make Any Perfume Last Longer
- ✦ Apply to moisturised skin. Dry skin loses fragrance faster. An unscented moisturiser applied before perfume significantly increases longevity.
- ✦ Pulse points: yes. Clothes: with care. Wrists, neck, chest, behind the knees. These warm points activate and diffuse fragrance throughout the day. Fabric retains scent but doesn’t develop it.
- ✦ Don’t rub. Rubbing the wrists together breaks fragrance molecules and reduces longevity. Let it dry naturally.
- ✦ Layer with unscented products. Scented body lotion or shower gel from a different fragrance line can interfere with the perfume. Use unscented alternatives to give your fragrance the stage.
- ✦ Choose extrait when longevity matters. For a day that runs from morning to midnight, an extrait de parfum is the most reliable choice. Two sprays and you’re covered.
